Individual therapy

for parents of children with food allergies

allergies are no piece of cake.

Are you feeling overwhelmed managing a child’s food allergy? When a child has food allergies, ensuring your family’s wellbeing can be demanding in both practical and emotional ways. The vigilance required of you doesn’t always leave space to process the fears you might struggle with; “What if…?” It can feel like you have to choose between the need to keep everyone safe, and the desire to live a joyful, fulfilling life.

You might find yourself

-Second guessing your decisions.

-Avoiding activities and situations that previously would have brought you joy.

-Feeling hurt and frustrated when people around you don’t get it.

Therapy can help.

You can be careful AND confident. You can feel all your feelings AND show up for your family.

In therapy, you’ll have the chance to express and examine all of the emotions that come up, and at the same time, loosen their hold.

We will explore your hopes and values, helping you build confidence in your ability to make decisions and to advocate for your family.

You can be fearful and brave, feel guilt and pride, despair and persevere. There is room for all of it.

As a fellow parent of children with allergies, I have plenty of experience managing food allergies; and most importantly, I understand that your experience is unique to you. My goal is to support you in finding your own answers and in figuring out what works best for you and your family.

You don’t have to live with constant fear and grief. You’ve got this.
