Support Groups
for parents of children with food allergies
peas in a pod
connect with people who understand your experience
Do you ever wish more of the people around you understood what it meant to navigate life with food allergies?
It’s easy to feel alone as the parent of a child with food allergies. Even the most supportive family and friends don’t necessarily understand the intricacies of the decisions you have to make, the vigilance you feel, the burden of the extra tasks that are part of your daily life.
You might:
-Hold back when you talk about your experience of caring for your child
-Resent people who don’t seem to understand the severity of what you cope with
-Wish for the perspectives of other people having similar experiences
You are not on this journey alone
You will be able to share and process the myriad of feelings that come up while navigating daily life, relationships, and emergencies. You may offer and receive understanding, encouragement, and perspective. Expand in your ability to advocate for your kids and yourself. Learn to acknowledge risk and fear while trusting your ability to make good decisions.
Groups offer members validation of their experience and empowerment to shape it. Each week we’ll explore a relevant theme. These include managing fear; getting comfortable as an advocate; setting boundaries; recovering from emergencies; navigating family and social dynamics, and more.
